Fraudsters impersonating police officers
Yet another sophisticated and very believable scam to a lot of people. Check below for a really good example on how scammers are impersonating police officers.
This type of scam is currently being used to get people to transfer money to the fraudsters accounts by pretending to be the police claiming your bank account has been compromised. In reality it is the actual caller who is trying to steal from you. My advice as always is to question any phone call you get unexpectedly. If you believe it could be genuine, simply put the phone down. Wait 1 minute and make sure you have a dial tone and then ring the company/person back in question to query the call.
