INGENIOUS CHATBOT WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE LOCAL NEWS FROM THE PAST 150 YEARS

A recent report in The Times says that the Eastern Daily Press newspaper which covers Norfolk & Suffolk which was first published in 1870 is in the process of scanning billions of words from hundreds of their news printed pages.  Readers will then be able to listen through a Chatbot & an Amazon Echo smart speaker or similar device

The newspaper owned by the Archant group claims it will be the first regional newspaper group to use artificial intelligence in this way

 

SOPHIA THE ROBOT TAKES STEPS TO WORLD DOMINATION

The Sophia robot stunned the world in 2015 following her appearance on chat shows & technology conferences wowing audiences with her wit & lifelike facial expressions

Ben Goertzel the chief scientist at Hanson Robotics in Hong Kong says his mission is now to give Sophia a robotic intelligence at the human level.  The United Nations Technology Programme has listed Sophia as their first innovative champion

Her creators have said that Sophia is a sophisticated mesh of robotic & software.  Her technology allows her to move with expressions with cameras embedded in her eyes & her brain processes enables her to speak & the ability to recognise faces whilst controlling her movements & body language

Her web site states Sophie describes herself as a real live electronic girl!

Is this the stuff of reality in the future? Only time will tell.

 

NEW GOOGLE VOICE CALLING DEVELOPMENT

Say hello Google followed by the business or family you want to contact & your home speaker will use Google contacts as an address book & place the call over your Wifi.  Google speakers will be able to recognise up to six different conversations in the UK which means you can speak to up to six people in say your family or work mates all at once

LATEST TIP FROM SANTANDER TO KEEP YOU SAFE

Beware of scams through remote access in which the fraudster says they are from a well-known company say Microsoft & that they have noticed that your internet connection or running speed are running slow

If you then offer them access to your computer, they may be able to log into your online bank account if you follow their instructions & in some instances release malicious software to gain access to your personal data

If you are ever in any doubt about the call put the phone down & check with me or your bank
