TALK TALK FINED FOR MASS HACKING BREACH ……….

The information commissioner has levied a record fine of £400 000 after the personal details of thousands of their customer records were hacked. The commissioner stated that TALK TALK had failed to even take rudimentary steps to safeguard its customers privacy or security.

It is understood that hackers had stolen up to 156,959 customers information & the total cost to TALK TALK is estimated to be over £60 million.  It is also understood that a 17 & 19 year old have been charged with the alleged hacking.

 

MICRO ROBOTS ARE COMING SOON

A Scottish farmers son has won a Nobel Prize in chemistry for his work on machines fashioned from individual molecules.  The scientist Sir Fraser Stoddart aged 74 together with two other people have created a bizarre field of microscopic four wheel motorcars & walking robots.  So small that tens of thousands could fit on a PIN HEAD

Their discoveries are beginning to bear fruit in practical applications for super dense batteries & magnetic guided capsules that can deliver cancer drugs with laser like precision.

 

GOOGLE TAKES ON APPLE WITH A NEW PHONE

Google have now developed a new smart phone that offers SEVEN hours of battery power from just 15 mins charge.

They are also shortly to launch a new smart home system that will allow you to play music, turn up your home heating system & order a UBER taxi among many other features without leaving your sofa.

 

A NEW APP FROM FACEBOOK

Marketplace is the name of the Facebook app that is likely to become a direct competitor to EBAY. Facebook have already created informal groups creating informal posts.

Users will shortly see a SHOP icon at the bottom of their screen & by touching this will allow you to browse through photos of merchandise for sale such as household & electrical goods.  It will give you the option to filter the results by price, category & location.

 

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE SMART PHONE WITHDRAWN

Following reports of this relatively new SAMSUNG smart phone/tablet catching fire, the company have decided to withdraw the model completely. There are believed to be millions of this particular model currently out in the marketplace & such a complete recall is likely to have a serious impact on the company.

Experts indicated that the total recall of the Galaxy Note 7 could cost the company over £4 billion.

 

FINDING A CHARGE POINT FOR AN ELECTRIC CAR

Reports in the press have recently stated that users of electric cars are having difficulty in some of the more remote areas in the UK to find charging points.  This is blamed on the failure of some local councils to install such charging points in their areas.

 

THE MARCH OF AMAZON

The mighty AMAZON organisation continues to look beyond its borders as it develops new ways to broaden it franchise.

Recent development include Amazon Dash which is a small branded device that allows shoppers to reorder essentials instantly at a touch of a button. Amazon echo which is a voice controlled speaker that can play music, read the news, do the shopping & even control your rooms lights and heating.

Amazon is currently testing fleets of DRONES in the UK, delivering to shoppers within 30 minutes of you placing an order, subject to civil aviation permission.

The companies CEO JEFF BEZOS has publically stated that they are still on track to send the public into space orbit in 2018 after an in-flight test of the capsules full-envelope escape system was performed.

 

THE DAYS OF ROBOT FARMERS ARE CLOSE

The Times Newspaper recently reported that a group of engineers are currently developing ROBOTS & DRONES that will be able to grow crops & keep live stock while human controllers sit comfortably in their farmhouses. Engineering staff at the Harper Adams university of Shropshire are attempting to grow & harvest a hectare of cereal crops without ever setting foot in the field.
