Do I need to make an appointment?
No, bring your device in whenever you like, see our opening times here. We work on a first come first serve basis, so when we book in your device it will enter into our queue system.
Is there a cost for diagnostics?
We offer a free diagnostics on initial assessment.
How long does a repair take?
We aim to repair your device as quickly as possible. Depending on workload this can vary between 1 and 5 days. Complex repairs or when parts are required to be ordered can extend the repair time. We do offer a fast track service which will get your device on the next available workbench space.
How much will it cost?
Every repair is different, from a cracked screen to a faulty CPU, so we can’t give a specific price without first assessing your device, but we will provide you with a no obligation quote before proceeding with any work.
What do you repair?
We repair all makes of laptops and computers including Apple. We also build and repair custom build PC’s, Gaming PC’s & Laptops.
Is it worth fixing my computer?
Computers tend to slow down and become out of date after about 5–7 years, so we usually recommend considering a replacement around that time. We generally avoid working on devices over 8 years old, unless there’s a special reason—like sentimental value or essential software or hardware that can’t be replaced. In most cases, it’s simply not cost-effective to invest in older machines.
Do I need to remove personal data before a fix?
No, At Mel’s Computer Care, customer confidentiality is paramount. We follow strict privacy protocols to ensure the information on your machine remains secure. In most cases, there’s no need for us to access your files, but if we need to, we uphold the highest standards of discretion and data protection.
